HBA AT THE FIRST PERIOD IN OCTOBER

MINISTER OF ESDM DETERMINING THE GRANTING OF COAL MINING AREA (WIUP

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil becomes the determinant in determining the granting of Mineral or Coal Mining Permit area (WIUP) to cooperatives-SMEs, mass organizations, State-Owned Enterprises – Local-Owned Enterprises, according to Article 17 paragraph 5: (5) Government Regulation (PP) Number 39/2025. COOPERATIVES HAVING OFFER TO MANAGE THE MINES 

The government officially allows cooperatives, including people's mines, to manage mineral and coal mines. COAL RESOURCES AND RESERVES 

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) recorded Indonesia's coal resources at 97.96 billion tons with coal reserves approximately at 31.9 billion tons. This makes the country one of the largest coal producing countries. (Detik)


FERTILIZER FROM COAL 

PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk stated that it will sell low-calorie coal downstream products in the form of organic fertilizer called BA Grow. This product is based on potassium Humate, a compound extracted from lignite and It has got the decree of the Minister of Agriculture No. 261/KPTS/SR.310/M/4/2019. (Kontan)


THE HIGHEST EXPORT CONTRIBUTOR 

The head of Statistics Indonesia for South Sumatra, Moh Wahyu Yulianto, said that Palembang City, OKI Regency and Lahat Regency were the main contributors to exports in South Sumatra by more than 77% in the first semester of 2025. Palembang at US$ 1,472 million, OKI at US$799 million, and Lahat at US$591 million. The highest contributor to exports of coal commodities. (Detik)

 

COAL EXPORT DUTY DERIVATIVES BEING PREPARED

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia said that there will be rules derived from the policy of imposing exit duties for coal commodities that are being prepared by the Ministry of energy and mineral resources. 70% OF PNBP FROM COAL 

Director General of Mineral and Coal, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tri Winarno, said that approximately at 70% of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) mining sector comes from the coal industry. In 2024, this sector would contribute approximately at IDR143 trillion to the state treasury. In 2025, the government targets non-tax revenues from this sector at IDR23 trillion. (Detik)


60 MILLION TONS OF COAL FOR THE SMELTER AHEAD

TARGETING THE PRODUCTION TO INCREASE IN 2025 

Head of Economic Affairs and development funding of LPGA from South Sumatra, Hari Wibawa, said that coal production of South Sumatra will continue to be boosted in the next few years. Even the 2025 target increase to 147.33 million tons from the previous at 113.29 million tons. (Detik)

 

REGENT EVALUATING THE MINING PERMIT 

The Regent of Southwest Aceh, Safaruddin, confirmed that he would evaluate all mining permits in his area, and was ready to revoke the recommendation. PT Antareja Mahada Makmur reported that it will work on the coal mining operations of PT Dizamatra Powerindo in Lahat, South Sumatra, with a contract volume at 100 million bank cubic meters. It will start early 2026, with a phased production target up to 7 million tons per year. (Liputan6.com)
